Poem-4 Kouravendrana Konde Neenu in English

 Poem-4

ಕೌರವೇಂದ್ರನ ಕೊಂದೆ ನೀನು

(ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಕವಿತೆ-Entire poem)

The son of Sun, Karna

Krishna holds Karna’s hand and makes him sit

over the horse and sits next to him

in such a way that their lap touches each other, Karna gets shocked and asks Krishna if he could sit next to him. Krishna tells:

Me and you don't have any difference,

whether Kauravas or Yahavas.

You are the son of Sun, you don't know who

and what you are and tells Karna something

which makes him feel very scared.

Kundi got five Mantra (from durvasa muni’s)

From them, you are the first son Karna

after you it is YudistiraDeva, the third one is Bheema

Arjuna is the fourth one,

the last or the fifth is Nakula-Sahadeva

they are Maadre’s children.

I will make you the king of Hastinapura

the Pandavas and Gauravarus will

serve and you and work for you like servants

leaving that do you want to eat

Duryodhana’s leftover and stay with him. Tell me.

On the left side of you, the Kauravas will serve you

on your right side the Pandavas will serve you

and in front of you Madhya, Magadha and Yadava people will serve you.

In the middle of the Kingdom, you will be ruling. Leaving such a great opportunity, do you want to be working under Duryodhana and be obeying his orders. Won’t it be tough for you.

On hearing this the veins on Karna’s neck swell up,

Water started to flow from his eyes.

Ayoo Duryodhana will for sure be at a loss

Krishna is such a big enemy of Kauravas that his enemyship will never go

He will for sure do what he wants to do. Karna stays silent and is worried.

Seeing Karna silent Krishna asks him why he is so worried and silent

Are you not happy in being served

by the children of Kunti? Hear to what I am saying it will

not cause you any harm. Now speak speak

why are you so silent. Don't be mad.

I will always want good for you.

The things that you are trying to tempt me for

I don't have any wish or desire to achieve them

Nor do I have any wishes to be served by the sons of Kunti

or by Duryodhana. He has accepted me as a friend and I had promised him that I will cut the heads of all the Pandavarus and give it to him.

But now by telling who I am you actually made the Gauravarus die for me.

Duryodhana's words are what actually matters to me as

I consider him to be my friend therefore his enemies are my enemies.

Krishna listen tomorrow on the battlefield

during the battle, I will show you my skill

and Battleplan on the Pandavas.

Tomorrow's Battle will be an invitation to God Maari.

I will pay back Kauravarus favors on me tomorrow

at any cost even if I die. But I will not give any type of

trouble to your brave people

I promise over Sun.
